The Ministry of Health launches a campaign to provide reproductive health services for free in 12 governorates

Launched Ministry of Health and PopulationAn expanded campaign under the slogan “Your Right to Organize”, to provide “free” family planning and reproductive health services and means in 12 governorates, during the period from 6 to 17 March.

This comes within the framework of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family, which was launched by the President of the Republic to improve the quality of life of citizens and families in general, by controlling population growth rates.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the campaign will be implemented in the governorates of Damietta, Gharbia, Sharqia, Qalyubia, Matrouh, Port Said, Cairo, Ismailia, Menoufia, Beheira, Red Sea, and Suez.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the campaign aims to provide free family planning services and means, in addition to supporting women, and raising health awareness for the Egyptian family, stressing that a distinguished set of safe and effective family planning methods will be provided to raise the rates of using methods of various kinds.

And “Abdul Ghaffar” added that trained teams of obstetricians and gynecologists were provided to conduct a medical examination on the beneficiaries, noting that family planning methods are dispensed through fixed units, urban centers, public and central hospitals, maternal and child care centers, and through mobile clinics that provide service in the regions. remote.

For his part, Dr. Hossam Abbas, Head of the Population and Family Planning Sector, indicated that the campaign provides awareness services within the “Our Days Are Better” initiative to raise health awareness for different age and societal segments, by raising awareness of the importance of family planning and its impact on the health of mothers and children, while adhering to precautionary measures. And social distancing to prevent the Corona virus, in coordination with the directorates of education, civil associations, and local councils.

Abbas noted that exhibitions for women’s clubs will be held during the campaign to develop their own capabilities and gain more experience. Which helps to empower her economically, as it is displayed through the display of handicrafts, leather products, sewing and knitting works that the beneficiaries produce following their training through the women’s club officials, believing in the importance of supporting women’s development, raising the economic level of Egyptian families and raising women’s ability to make decisions, especially the decision to procreate. As part of the state’s efforts to improve demographic characteristics.
