Le Temps des secrets will be released in Marseille on March 16, meeting with the film crew

After my father’s Glory and my mother’s Castle, Le Temps des secrets, the third part of Marcel Pagnol’s childhood memories is adapted for the cinema by Christophe Barratier. The film was previewed last night in Marseille, it comes out on March 16, we met the whole film crew.

The whole Pagnol family is back at the foot of the Garlaban. We find the film crew in this historic natural setting. Everyone tells us regarding their character and Le Temps des secrets.

In the role of Augustine, the beloved mother, Mélanie Doutey: “Augustine is a very loving mother who is absolutely overwhelmed to see her children grow up. Even to see her eldest fall into this somewhat complicated age of adolescence.”

In the role of Joseph Marcel’s father, Guillaume de Tonquédec: “He also begins to discover that his parents are not perfect, that they too have secrets, the masks fall.”

The family, the friendship, the first emotions, the first rivalries… According to Christophe Barratier, the director, Le Temps des secrets is Pagnol’s initiatory novel: “It’s not just going bird hunting, it’s also friendly, human and loving relationships that are exactly the same and it’s so that Pagnol doesn’t age.”

If Lili des Bellons is embodied by a young actor from Aubagnais, the actor who plays the role of Marcel is not a child of the hills, but he has worked a lot: “It’s still a big responsibility because he’s an iconic character in French and southern literature.” says Leo Campion.

In this film, which is an adaptation of the third volume of Marcel Pagnol’s Memories of Childhood, the young Marcel has just completed his primary studies. He will soon enter high school. But before, he enjoys three months of vacation. It was at this time that he found his dear hills of Aubagne and Allauch, and where he had great adventures with Lili.

Le Temps des souvenirs will be in theaters on March 16.
