“Mental Health” launches the “Your Right to Know” initiative to raise awareness of the dangers of addiction in Aswan

The activities of the awareness initiative entitled “Your Right to Know” to raise awareness of mental health and addiction treatment for 2022, which is implemented by the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment in cooperation with a hospital, was launched today. Mental health in AswanUnder the auspices of the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment.

The first event witnessed an awareness lecture for students of Kima Preparatory Joint School in Aswan regarding the harms of drugs and addiction, in which Haitham Hosni Dardair, Head of the Departments of Social Service, Public Relations, Media and Health Education at Aswan Hospital for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, and Rabie Mahmoud Mohamed, Specialist in Addiction Treatment Department at Aswan Health Hospital, lectured Mental.

A definition regarding the hospital and the therapeutic, awareness and educational services that it provides to various segments of society were reviewed, the definition of addiction and abuse, and how to work to avoid falling into the clutches of addiction and discover the indications of abuse.

The lecture also witnessed a set of questions and inquiries from students and supervisors regarding addiction and abuse problems and how to avoid them at different age groups.

In the same context, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Wahab Agamy, Director General of Aswan Hospital for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, confirmed that this lecture comes as the beginning of a series of meetings and lectures for various sectors of society to raise awareness of mental health and addiction treatment in line with the launch of the year of adolescents whose activities are held under the auspices of Dr. Amin General Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment.
