Ahead of Apple’s event on Tuesday, evidence was spotted that the company is testing the M2 Apple silicon chip that will debut in the new MacBook Air and the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro.

According to MacRumours, Apple has been testing a chip with an eight-core CPU and 10-core GPU across multiple Macs on the latest macOS beta, in recent weeks.

Apple’s M2 silicon chip will be the first significant upgrade to custom Apple silicon on Macs since its introduction.

The American tech giant unveiled the M1 chip in November 2020 and has since introduced more powerful iterations of the chip, including the M1 Pro and M1 Max.

Previous reports suggest that the Apple M2 chip will first make its way to the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro and the completely redesigned MacBook Air.

According to a report obtained by MacRumours, the new Mac mini, which is expected to have the M1 Pro and M1 Max chipset, is “ready to go” and might be launched next week, and that a new 13-inch MacBook Pro and a new iMac might be launched “as soon as possible.” first half of the year.”
