Pánuco, Ver.- (Veracruz Vanguard).- For approximately 10 years, the expansion of the devil fish in rivers and other lakes in the north of Veracruz is very noticeable.
Until now, this species has not been well seen by fishermen in this region of North Veracruz.
Firstly, this species was detected in the mighty Pánuco River of that sugarcane city.
There the fishermen saw how the devil fish killed other species that they commonly fish, since they practically devoured all the eggs.
This situation also occurred in the Tamemas river, in the municipality of Tempoal.
The fishermen reported that there was no recent record of the presence of the devil fish in rivers, or bodies of water, that converge with Tempoal.
And it is that the rejection by the fishermen was unanimous, since they like to eat eggs of other species; which causes the population to decimate.
This has caused the stigmatization of such a mentioned fish, to such an extent that until now it is not fully used by those who dedicate themselves to such a praiseworthy activity.
However, the devil fish has certain elements that would help combat various ailments and that would benefit medicine.
Among them, it stands out that this animal might take advantage of a large part of its body, to combat osteoporosis or bone ailments.
The fishermen themselves have pointed out that studies carried out by scientists from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) support the effectiveness of the devil fish in favor of medicine.
There are even experimental studies for the creation of capsules, which can help fight people with bone problems or osteoporosis.
It should be noted that these studies also indicate that the much-mentioned aquatic species is used to feed broilers.
This shows that until now there has not been an adequate consensus to be able to take full advantage of the devil fish, without necessarily having to exterminate it.
However, we must not forget that this aquatic creature jealously protects its territory, which prevents other species from spawning.
