There were 1,238 people with COVID-19 occupying a bed in Quebec hospitals on Sunday, 20 less than on Saturday. The number of people in intensive care, meanwhile, remained stable (76, -2).
Unfortunately, the government has mourned nine additional deaths in the province.
With PCR testing still limited, there are 910 new virus infections among those who have access to it.
These results are, all in all, encouraging on the eve of the lifting of the obligation to wear a mask in primary and secondary school classes.
Encouraging results also in Ontario
On the other side of the Ottawa River, there was a decrease of 111 hospitalizations, for a total of 684 occupied beds. Of this number, there were 247 patients in intensive care, a decrease of 6 compared to Tuesday.
In the past 24 hours, 17 Ontarians have succumbed to the disease and 1,787 have tested positive for SARS-CoV2. Remember that access to screening centers is also limited in Ontario and that this number is therefore not representative of the real situation.
