Thousands of people must be evacuated immediately from their cities in Ukraine, as reported by the Ukrainian Presidential Office.
“We have already had two agreements on humanitarian corridors from Mariupol and Volnovakha with the Russian side, both of which have been violated by the Russians. They would have allowed the evacuation of more than 200,000 civilians,” the Office of the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has denounced, as reported by the Ukrainian newspaper ‘Ukrayinska Pravda’.
In this context, there are already several dozen cities in eight regions of the country where “the humanitarian situation is catastrophic.”
The cities, towns and villages of the Sumy, Chernigov, Khakov, Kiev, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Lugansk and Donetsk regions are the ones that need the most access to humanitarian corridors.
Thus, the Presidential Office has emphasized that according to International Humanitarian Law, the intermediaries in the process of coordinating humanitarian corridors can be an independent “third party” that is not a party to the conflict or international humanitarian organizations.
On the other hand, he has accused Russia of using the humanitarian corridors as a pretext to strengthen its own military positions and fully conquer Ukraine.
“Ukraine’s humanitarian aid must be at the forefront of the attention of the most influential international structures: in particular, the G7, which comprises the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada and, of course, Germany,” he said. sentenced the statement of the presidency of Ukraine.
