The skier Marie Bochet, French star of the winter events, won silver on Sunday in the Super-G (standing category) of the Paralympic Games in Beijing, thus unlocking her counter in this competition.

After falling the day before during the descent, skier Marie Bochet made up for it on Sunday March 6 by winning silver in the Super-G (standing category) of the Paralympic Games in Beijing.

Aged 28, the native of Chambéry finished behind the surprising Chinese Zhang Mengqiu. “It has a little taste of gold, this medal!” Reacted Marie Bochet following the race, because “the Chinese was difficult to get”.

“I had to bounce back following yesterday, I had a little pressure (…). Today, I have the silver medal, I’m happy.”

Nicknamed “the snow queen”, Marie Bochet, multiple gold medalist in the World Championship, World Cup and Paralympic Games, was born with a malformation of the left forearm.

France now has three medals at these Paralympic Games: one gold, one silver and one bronze.
