New York, Düsseldorf Certainty comes from space: On February 24, satellite images confirm a report by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky: Russian troops are moving in the direction of Chernobyl, towards the still highly radioactive site of the nuclear disaster 36 years ago.

After the short message on the Internet platform Twitter, concerns regarding a nuclear attack are circulating in Europe. But first the question of whether the report is actually true.

The company Capella Space in San Francisco can help on this day. More than 170 military vehicles can be seen on their satellite images from the followingnoon of February 24: tanks, troop carriers, supply trucks rolling towards Chernobyl, as the US company explains.

In one photo, President Vladimir Putin’s Russian troops are regarding 22 kilometers away from the former nuclear power plant. Then new satellite images prove that Russia has taken Chernobyl.
