Some things and hidden details regarding the life of the late Princess Diana are still emerging, as an unprecedented picture of Princess Diana was shown in a new exhibition entitled “Life through a royal lens” at Kensington Palace in London.
The photograph was taken in 1988 by David Bailey who is best known for photographing a number of popular cultural icons including Andy Warhol, Twiggy and the Beatles.
According to a press release, the fashion photographer was chosen by Diana, who died in 1997, for his high-contrast lighting and minimalist style.
The simple and elegant black and white photo released to the public on March 4 shows the nearly 27-year-old Princess Diana staring stoically away from the camera, wearing a satin gown and a pair of earrings.
The exhibition “Life Through a Royal Lens” will present the relationship of the royal family with photographers through the decades, in addition to photographs taken by some members of the royal family themselves.
The exhibition “Life Through a Royal Lens” will run from Friday, March 4th, until October 30th.
