Actor Mitchell Ryan, known from the first film in the “Lethal Weapon” series and the sitcom “Dharma & Greg”, is dead. He died of heart failure at home in Los Angeles on Friday at the age of 88, his stepdaughter Denise Freed said with The Hollywood Reporter magazine.

Ryan has been an actor for more than 50 years. In “Lethal Weapon” he was a general turned heroin smuggler. In “Dharma & Greg” in the 90s he played the wealthy and eccentric father of the main character Greg. Ryan played Burke Devlin on the soap opera Dark Shadows in the 1960s. But he was released because of his alcohol problems. Ryan admitted this in his 2021 autobiography, Fall of a Sparrow.
