Halo Infinite Season 2: coop postponed, maps, game modes… all the details! | Xbox One

Halo Infinite has been available for a few months already, but the anger regarding it continues to rumble. And for good reason, the game came out incomplete, whether by the absence of cooperation in the campaign, or the very limited number of maps and game modes. 343 Industries is back today to specify the content of the two next seasons.

343 Industries Top Priorities

First of all, the developers explain that the first priority for the studio is to take care of the health of the teams and to avoid the crunch. They are therefore aware that in recent months they have been slower than they would have thought and therefore thank the players for their patience.

At the same time, with regard to the game, the most important thing is of course to fix critical problems. Thus, in their “Hotlist”, one of the most known problems is the progress of the Spartans. In the less known, we can notably mention the vulnerabilities of the anti-cheat, or all the difficulties that the players experienced on the Big Team Battle a few weeks ago.

Today, the priorities of this famous Hotlist are the progression of the players, the cooperation in the campaign and the Forge mode. Hopefully this list will be empty in a few months!

Season 2 is revealed with its new maps and modes

As Season 2 approaches, which will begin on May 3, 343 Industries is proud to announce its name: “Lone Wolves”.

By “theme,” we mean a central idea that guides the creation of much, but not all, of a season’s content. The Lone Wolves are hunters. Trackers. They are resourceful improvisers, operating in enemy territory without supplies or support. They are fierce, hardy and prefer to work alone, but they remain loyal to the Spartan pack.

We can thus take advantage of a concept with the Spartan Sigrid Eklund on the left and the Spartan Hieu Dinh on the right. These customization items should be unlockable in Season 2 in which we will spend more time with the Spartan Laurette Agryna (of the academy) with a mixture of cinematics, story-themed events, elements of the Battle Pass and much more, which embody the Lone Wolves theme.

This second season will also sign the arrival of a new Fracture event. After Tenrai in the first, 343 Industries gives a first look at unlockable armor in the second.

Of course, what most interests players is obviously the arrival of new cards and new game modes!

  • Two new cards:
    • Arena : Catalyst.
    • Big Team Battle : Breaker.
  • Three new game modes:
    • Last Spartan Standing: every man for himself, but elimination style.
    • Land Grab: a new mode that we don’t know anything regarding yet.
    • King of the Hill: an iconic mode of the saga where you have to stay in an area to score points, but this time the mode will be revisited!

It seems that other content will be added during the season given the turn of the phrase:

In Season 2, we will also feature playlist updates, balance changes, new modes, and new maps, including an arena map named “Catalyst” and a BTB map named ” Breaker”.

The developers will share many more details at least April regarding maps, modes, customization options and narrative content.

La Forge still planned for Season 3, but cooperation still postponed…

Bad news for those who were waiting for the arrival of cooperation to embark on the campaign, it will take even longer than expected. Originally planned for the launch, then for season 2, then itself postponed for 3 months, it is once more postponed…

The developers explain that they are not able to deliver it as of May 3 for two reasons. They want to make sure it works 4-way online, and when it comes to 2-way split-screen, they’re still having some trouble in the open part of the campaign. Remember, however, that this will be available on both Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC.

So online co-op is still planned for Season 2, but not for release, while the split-screen experience will come at an even later date.

Regarding the Forge, the teams are making very good progress on it and should be able to offer it for the launch of Season 3. This is at least the objective targeted by 343 Industries, which is already actively working on Season 3. testers also have the chance to test this famous and highly anticipated Forge.

To keep you waiting until Season 2, next Tuesday you can discover a brand new Halo Infinite event with “Tactical Ops” which will offer a whole bunch of Tactical Slayer variants. It will thus be possible to win rewards related to the Mark VII core.
