Russian skier Natalya Nepryaeva ahead of schedule won the overall World Cup standings. She scored 973 points.
Today, in the classic marathon at the World Cup in Oslo, Nepryaeva’s closest rivals – Swede Ebba Andersson and Norwegian Heidi Weng – took 9th and 10th places, respectively, and lost their chances of winning.
Earlier, the FIS suspended the Russians from competitions in the World Cup.
The position in the overall standings may change if the format of the final stage of the Ski World Cup, which will be held in Falun from March 11 to 13, is changed.
As part of the stage in Swedish Falun, there will be classic sprints, skating, as well as a mixed relay and team sprint. Whether the races in Falun will be combined into a mini-tour (and whether 200 points will be added to the draw) is still unknown.
