“IT’S FRIDAY…” and that doesn’t just mean it’s Rampage time, it also means that the last edition of Rampage before AEW Revolution is upon us! And this edition kicks off with the announced Three-Way TNT Championship Match!
1. Match
TNT Championship
Three-Way Match
Sammy Guevara (c) won once morest Darby Allin and Andrade via pinfall following a diving senton by Sammy Guevara once morest Andrade.
Match time: 13:11
– As Guevara lifted Allin for a superplex, Andrade finally grabbed Guevara from the ring and additionally turned the move into a powerbomb on the champion.
– Andrade used a kind of leather strip in between, Allin used his belt once morest Andrade – in a three-way match of course completely legal.
– Before the finish, Allin landed his flip stunner on Andrade and Guevara GTHed through the GTH on Andrade. Allin threw Guevara out of the ring and hit the coffin drop, but during the cover Guevara landed a senton on both of them, knocking Allin out of the ring and winning the match.
After the match, the champion offered a handshake to Darby Allin, but Allin rolled out of the ring and headed backstage in frustration.
Next we see the Death Triangle. Alex Abrahantes is back in his Vampiro-esque outfit. The House of Black always wins? Last week it famously won once morest the Death Triangle. And you might throw a little more fuel on the fire. After all, there are three members of the House of Black and there are three members of the Death Triangle! On the big screen, Malakai Black, Brody King and Buddy Matthews appear, doubting that they actually “lost”. Word is they will appreciate the sacrifice Alex Abrahantes will make. Shortly therefollowing, the lights in the arena go out. As we get back to the action in the ring, the members of the House of Black have appeared on the apron! But Abrahantes warns Malakai: he’s not the third man to take on the House of Black… and suddenly the Erick Redbeard theme begins to play! Indeed he is! Security tries to separate the two trios, but Redbeard single-handedly takes apart the entire security force while the House of Black flees. Finally, Penta Oscuro breaks the arm of a hapless member of security.
Backstage we see Dan Lambert and Scorpio Sky. Sammy Guevara has defended his TNT Championship once morest everyone except Scorpio Sky, who is still the true #1 Contender. So Dan Lambert has struck a deal with Tony Khan: Paige VanZant will sign her AEW deal with Revolution, in exchange for Sky finally getting his title match, at Dynamite next week!
Ricky Stars joins the commentary team for Keith Lee’s upcoming match.
2. Match
Singles Match
Keith Lee defeated JD Drake via pinfall following the Big Bang disaster.
Match time: 05:49
– Meanwhile, the 301-pound JD Drake landed a moonsault but failed to get more than a 1-count.
Immediately following the match, Keith Lee is attacked by the wingmen, but Peter Avalon and Ryan Nemeth are brushed aside before Cezar Bononi collects the powerbomb. Then Avalon is thrown out of the ring onto his team members in a high arc.
Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs make their way down to the ring, but suddenly the Orange Cassidy theme starts playing and “Freshly Squeezed” actually appears on the stage. So the two hitmen from Team Taz prefer to think differently…
We see a small video package showing CM Punk being treated following MJF’s attack. He seems full of adrenaline. He says his pain makes him feel alive. If MJF thinks he’s PG Punk now, if he wants the “real” CM Punk, he’ll regret it because he’s not ready for that. He will lead MJF around like a dog on a leash and leave parts of him lying around everywhere. “Because I’m CM Punk – and I’m better than you.”
Now Tony Schiavone has “Smart” Mark Sterling and TBS Champion Jade Cargill interviewed backstage. Anna Jay appears and asks what day it is. Sterling unknowingly answers her honestly, but out of nowhere Jade Cargill collects a pump kick from Tay Conti, who reveals that her final 48 hours as the champion have already begun.
3. Match
Singles Match – 5-Minute Rookie Challenge
Serena Deeb won once morest Leila Gray
Match time: 00:58
After the match, Hikaru Shida suddenly appears and drives Serena out of the ring with a kendo stick! But since Deeb makes the mistake of not leaving right away, Shida follows her and bangs her leg like a maniac with the kendo stick! Serena has no choice but to disappear from the ring.
Eddie Kingston is backstage with Tony Schiavone. He talks regarding his upcoming match once morest Eddie Kingston, but is getting fed up with the babble. He will not allow Jericho to put doubts in his head. He will humiliate Jericho and Jericho will have to shake his hand.
Before the main event, Mark Henry welcomes Christian Cage and Ethan Page. Last year at Revolution they both made their AEW debut. Ethan Page now wants to prove that HE is the one who wants to be a Hall of Famer one day. But Christian has played more ladder matches than anyone else, making this type of match famous. Even if Scorpio Sky wins the title next week, he will only be a transitional champion.
4. Match
Singles Match – Face of the Revolution Qualifier
Christian Cage defeated “All Ego” Ethan Page via a pinfall following the kill switch.
Match time: 08:57
After the match, the AEW Tag Team Champions, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus enter the arena! The victorious Christian Cage hugs his friends. The trio pose together in the ring, but then the Young Bucks and reDRagon join them. A staredown ensues, but Kyle O’Reilly just grabs one of the belts to provoke the rest of the match. Matt Jackson also has one of the belts in his hand, but Luchasaurus reaches out of the ring and reclaims the belts as the rightful owner and Jungle Boy clears the Young Bucks and reDRagon with a plancha. Again, the Jurassic Express theme begins to play, and with that, the last installment of Rampage before Revolution ends!
