HealthTech/AgroBiosciences. Plug and Play and venture capital fund UM6P Ventures join forces

The venture capital fund UM6P Ventures and the global innovation platform Plug and Play announced, on Friday in Casablanca, their strategic partnership to co-launch two new acceleration verticals, namely AgroBioscience and HealthTech.

Indeed, Plug and Play Morocco and UM6P Ventures, the investment arm of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, are joining forces and relying on the startup acceleration program by including tailor-made support for HealthTech-focused startups. and Agrobioscience, which will add to the wide range of industrial startups that Plug and Play currently supports.

To this end, the Managing Director of UM6P Ventures, Yasser Biaz, said he was proud to collaborate with a global innovation giant in deeptech, while noting his willingness to provide full scientific support to the Plug and Play.

Biaz also noted that the various Plug and Play accelerator programs offer various growth opportunities by providing the necessary resources for startups to grow, noting that through an extensive network of mentors, investors, leading companies plan and others, startups can benefit from workshops, networking events, one-on-one mentoring sessions, industry-specific meetups, and large-scale events such as expo days, providing founders and their teams a deep and incomparable experience.

“The three-month program includes four periods of intensive in-person acceleration. Startups will benefit from over 40 hours of workshops and over 150 hours of individual mentoring and will have access to StartGate, UM6P’s startup campus which is committed to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and resources to support entrepreneurs. “, he said.

And to specify that now, with UM6P Ventures, this acceleration program, built jointly, will allow startups offering solutions related to the HealthTech and Agrobioscience fields to have access to the platforms of excellence and laboratories of the UM6P equipped with for the testing, prototyping, validation and production phases of the solution.

For his part, Aziz El Hachem, Program Manager at Plug and Play noted that start-ups in the fields of Agrobioscience and HealthTech, handpicked by experts from both entities in these respective fields, presented this Friday their projects in order to participate in a new Batch which will begin on March 10.

As part of the extension of the current relationship between Plug and Play and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, UM6P Ventures, will support the acceleration and invest in startups operating in the HealthTech and AgroBioscience verticals by providing tailor-made support with a specialized expertise, state-of-the-art infrastructure and capital essential elements to ensure the transition from-lab-to-market in the aforementioned industries.
