Renault is leaving the business class segment following almost half a century of presence in it (if you count from the Renault 30 model). The latest attempt to attract buyers was the model Renault Talismanintroduced in 2015. Sedans and station wagons with a length of 4.85 m had relatively rich equipment and competed on the European market with Volkswagen Passat, Citroen C5, Ford Mondeo and Peugeot 508 cars. But last February, the production of this model at the French Renault plant was discontinued, and on March 1 it disappeared from the official catalog of the brand.

In six years, only 118,000 Talismans were sold in Europe. For example, Passat found 115,000 buyers here in 2020 alone. But Talisman never appeared on the Russian market. Renault refuses further experiments in this class of cars: the Talisman will not have an heir, even with an electric motor. Instead, Renault will expand its range of much more sought-following crossovers.

The departure of the Talisman did not come as a surprise: information regarding this appeared back in the spring of 2020, and at the same time the verdict was signed for the Scenic and Espace models, but their production will be completed later. And in the ranks there is still an analogue of the Talisman – a sedan Samsung SM6produced in South Korea for the local market.
