Pediatric Hospital: they demand greater security against attacks on staff

Members of the Medical Association together with precarious workers held a conference this morning at the “Avelino Castelán” Pediatric Hospital to demand greater security in the face of attacks on several workers by relatives of patients.

María Fernánda Belbey, Head of Security of the hospital exposed the difficult situation to which the staff is exposed due to the lack of more people in the area.

“We are here exposing to society the aggressions that we are experiencing by parents. We also want to request that we have the security of the health police as it corresponds, at each entrance to the hospital, not a single person on duty. We have two important entrances which are the spontaneous demand and the main entrance of the hospital that are covered by me and by two precarious boys from the Experts program,” he explained.

Regarding the different situations of violence that employees have been suffering, Belbey indicated that the majority is due to compliance with the health protocol due to the pandemic. “People come and I don’t understand the protocols. In this case I was one of those attacked by a person, which is not the first time, there are already other complaints in November of last year, also reported but the prosecution seems to be unaware of everything” , Held.

MORE CASES

The head of Security said that her case is not the only one since in recent days other colleagues have suffered other attacks. “Two days before a boy from Rayos was attacked, the complaint was also made in the prosecutor’s office No. 1. And today without going any further, the girls from the Admission part were attacked and one of the mothers stole the cell phone charger and there is no police presence,” he said.

RECOGNITION OF SERVICES
