The Russian Ministry of Industry on Friday recommended that Russian fertilizer producers temporarily suspend their exports, citing the “sabotage” of foreign companies hampering the transport of this product, of which the country is one of the main producers.
“Currently, a situation is being created where, due to the sabotage of deliveries by a number of foreign logistics companies, farmers in Europe and other countries cannot receive the contracted volumes of fertilizers”, indicated in a statement from the ministry.
“The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has been forced to recommend Russian producers to temporarily suspend the shipment of Russian fertilizers intended for export,” he added.
This recommendation is made “until carriers resume regular work and provide guarantees for the full implementation of Russian fertilizer export deliveries.”
The ministry specifies that the needs of Russian farmers will continue to be covered.
Russia is one of the world’s leading fertilizer producers. Europe and Brazil in particular are very dependent on Russian fertilizers.
