Ferreira returns to coaching Zamalek

The Egyptian club, Zamalek, has signed the veteran Portuguese coach, Jesualdo Ferreira, to replace the French Patrice Carteron, who was dismissed from his position last Monday, according to what its president, Mortada Mansour, announced on the official website of the Cairo club “Al-Friday”.
Mansour said in a video, “Ferreira is the new coach of the Zamalek club. He is a competent coach who has previously coached the team and achieved the league and cup double.”
He added, “The details of his contract have been finalised, and the contract will be for a season and a half.”
Ferreira, 75, took over the technical leadership of Zamalek in the first term of the 2014-2015 season, during which he won the two league titles following an 11-season absence from the local title, and the Egypt Cup in the same season. Bin Zayed City, Al Ain, UAE.
Ferreira previously supervised the training of the three best clubs in Portugal: Benfica, Porto and Sporting, and has several experiences in the world for the Arab, following he supervised the Moroccan Rabat Open for the 1995-96 season and the Qatari Al Sadd from 2015 to 2019.
Last Monday, the Zamalek board of directors announced the termination of the contract of former coach Carteron by mutual consent due to the decline in the results of the first team in the League and the African Champions League in football.
