Guy Lafleur continues his courageous fight once morest cancer. He is currently at his home following making a short routine visit to the hospital, his family said yesterday in an update on the legendary Canadiens forward’s condition.

In a text message sent to Journal yesterday, Guy Lafleur said “I feel good, but tired”.

The legendary number 10 has been battling lung cancer for almost three years, which was detected when he was due to undergo a quadruple heart bypass.

Mr. Lafleur was then diagnosed with a recurrence of the disease in October 2020.

The last public outing of Mr. Lafleur, now 70 years old, dates back to last October, in Quebec. The number 4 he wore with the Remparts during his junior internship was then immortalized by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

In an emotional speech, he said he was fighting “the fight of his life”.
