Gasoline: the threshold of $2 per liter is approaching in the Quebec region

The historic $2 liter threshold is not very far away with a new upward trend on Thursday in the Quebec region.

This increase is the second to occur in as many days.

Not so long ago, specialists dared to predict such a price before the onset of summer. A little more and the symbolic bar will be reached even before the end of winter.

Quebec motorists continue to suffer significant price increases at the pump, a direct consequence of the armed conflict raging in Ukraine.

In the nation’s capital, some gas stations now list a liter of regular gasoline at $1.839, another jump of nearly 10 cents. At this price, it costs over $80 to fill up the most economical car.

On Wednesday, a liter of regular gasoline was selling at 174.9 cents per litre. This was an increase of regarding 10 cents in a few hours. The CAA-Quebec nevertheless asserts that the price at the pump is lower than the realistic price.

This followingnoon, however, not all retailers had followed suit.
