The letter is signed by the following members of the Ukrainian parliament: Olena Khomenko, Yevheniia Kracvhuck, Vitalii Bezghin, Oleksander Trukhin, Oleg Tarasov and Serhiy Bunin.

This is the letter that the senators of the Plural Group received from the ambassador and delivered to the president of the Board of Directors of the Senate, Olga Sánchez Cordero:

The letter

“Most Excellent President:

We take advantage of this channel to respectfully greet you and thank you for supporting Ukraine in the struggle for freedom and independence of our country, and we have the honor to report the following.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are attacking Ukraine from different directions. We are fighting the battles, every second in almost every corner of Ukraine. Russia bombs civilians, women and children.

We believe that only massive military support from our allies can help us push back the enemy. While our Armed Forces are valiantly resisting, we still have some problems with weapons and ammunition.

As you know, we have deployed a number of units that act as territorial defense forces. These brave men and women do not have any effective armor, helmets, communication lines and weapons, but they continue to throw gasoline bombs (Molotov cocktails) at enemy vehicles.

Providing them with weapons will stop civilian casualties and block further movement of the Russian Armed Forces deeper into Ukrainian territory.

Here is the detailed list of our bulk urgent needs:

– Anti-tank guided weapons;

– FIM-92 Stingers;

– Small arms, grenade launchers and other ammunition (modern and of Soviet Union origin);

– All kinds of communications apparatus, mainly military portable radio apparatus;

– Bulletproof vests and helmets.

We also ask that you contact your European partners to deliver some of the fighter jets they have to Ukraine. If you can provide any other kind of military and humanitarian assistance, we would be very grateful. There is no time to wait. Every second is important.
