Quite honestly, in the old paradigm, I would never have believed that I would attract people from Québec solidaire (QS), says Éric Duhaime. But with the new divide created by the pandemic, it is possible.
Luce Daneau has been active with QS since its foundation and she set up the Québec solidaire Drummond body. She is a remedial teacher and owner of the Professional Assessment and Learning Rehabilitation Clinic in Drummondville. At the time of this writing, all of his posts had been deleted from his Twitter platform.
The leader of the PCQ believes that the population is now divided between those who want keep their civil rights
and those who trust the government to stay safe

The PCQ now has 54,000 members, according to Mr. Duhaime. If he intended to fill his ranks from the outset with people who chose the CAQ in the last ballot, he also wishes today to seek votes from voters further to the left of the political spectrum.
I observe that there is a slightly more hippie wing at QS which advocates live and let live that I can rally. There are also artists who felt left out during the pandemic and people who found themselves on the freedom convoys.
The Conservative leader admits it will be a challenge to reconcile the ideas of his party’s candidates in the followingmath of the pandemic. We all agree on the priorities, in particular that we must repair the impacts of the crisis and rebuild the health system, he said. But we have to make room for people who think differently. They will perhaps bring us a sensitivity that we did not have.
