The Ministry of Health and Social Protection stressed that “the end of the Omicron wave is not synonymous with the end of the pandemic”, ensuring that at present, the possible appearance of worrying variants on an international scale is still in order, at a time when the World Health Organization considers the pandemic a global health emergency.
In a press release, the ministry noted that the epidemiological situation of Covid-19 in Morocco is characterized by a significant improvement in all indicators with control of the epidemiological situation, thanks to the proactive measures taken and that are still being taken. Morocco, of the national vaccination campaign, and of the preventive measures still in force.
“To preserve this positive and comfortable epidemiological situation in our country and guarantee a gradual return to normal life, booster doses as part of the national vaccination campaign are the only way to protect people, particularly the oldest and those suffering from lack of immunity and chronic diseases, in addition to the imperative of continuing to observe preventive measures, such as wearing a mask, using hand sanitizers, and maintaining a high degree of vigilance, in accordance with the relevant recommendations of the scientific committee”, notes the same source.
All this, the statement concludes, “with a view to avoiding a relapse into a new wave more massive than that which our country has known before and which might undermine the achievements made by our country in this field”.
