Against the backdrop of reports of a sharp rise in car prices and the lack of many models in stock, the editors of the site tvsamara.ru decided to find out how things are in the primary car market in Samara. Namely, what kind of car can be purchased in the regional center as of the morning of March 3, 2022 for 2 million rubles.
We relied on the list of the most popular cars among Russians in 2021, according to the Avtostat analytical agency. At the end of 2021, the best-selling model in Russia was LADA Vesta, whose sales increased by 6% and amounted to 113,698 vehicles per year. The second place was taken by LADA Granta with 111,430 cars, which is 12% less compared to 2020. We started studying the situation on the market with AvtoVAZ dealers.
“Vesta”, “Granta”, “Niva” and “Largus”
In the official LADA dealership, for the amount of interest to us, they offered Vesta in a station wagon body in an average configuration with an automatic transmission (with a heated steering wheel and windshield, power windows and 16-inch alloy wheels). The cost of the car is 1 million 580 thousand rubles.
But with a mechanical transmission, Vesta was available in a sedan for 1 million 425 thousand. In addition to the above additional options, climate control was added.
The salon noted that one of the most popular Granta models is also available, but in “luxury” trim levels and only on “mechanics” – for 1 million 110 thousand.
Deliveries of “Granta” on the “machine” are expected only at the end of March.
But the classic “Niva” was not available. Only the “Travel” model in the average configuration for 1 million 300 thousand. “Largus” is also out of stock.
– It is better to take the sooner, the better. Because the prices are not clear right now. They may continue to grow. You will arrive now, and I can already announce another cost to you. On March 1, prices were raised by regarding 250-300 thousand, – they said in the salon.
KIA «Rio»
As for another popular model among Russians – Kia “Rio”, two car dealerships of official dealers in Samara have cars in stock. But the price was not given to us in any of them:
– We don’t have any information regarding the price policy yet. Prices will be known on the followingnoon of March 3. So far, unfortunately, we won’t sell you anything,” one of the car dealership managers said with sadness in his voice.
Hyundai «Creta» и «Solaris»
“Solaris” (with an automatic transmission and a 1.6-liter engine) was offered at the official car dealership for 2 million 301 thousand rubles. They promised to install winter tires for free. Title is available, and under the trade-in program there is a discount of 100 thousand rubles. As for prices, sellers are also not optimistic:
– Maybe in a day or two the prices will change. “Creta” has risen in price significantly – already for 3 million 255 thousand, – they said in the salon.
Volkswagen “Polo”
Another popular model was available, but only in the maximum configuration, although in several colors at once. The price was higher than expected – 2 million 130 thousand rubles. However, the dealership promised to make a discount if you hurry.
– We expect another price increase from 4 to 7 March. During these periods there will be a serious increase.
After a call from the dealer, a message came: “In the next two days, we are ready to give away the white Polo for 1 million 930 thousand 500 rubles.”
Skoda
The official car dealership said that by March 2, prices for cars had not been set. Therefore, for now, you can only admire the products of the Czech manufacturer. Prices will be announced on March 4th. No forecasts were given for the future value, but they made it clear that it would grow significantly.
Renault Duster
The editorial staff might not get through to the Samara dealer (the line was constantly busy), we were transferred to a branch in Smyshlyaevka. Only one car was available there for 1 million 700 thousand rubles.
– This car from March 4 will cost already 1 million 950 thousand, – the consultant “delighted”.
Analyzing the state of the automotive market, we can conclude that prices will continue to rise, and many popular models that previously fit into the amount of 2 million rubles with a margin will soon exceed this psychological bar or come close to it. At the moment, there are no problems with the availability of cars. The trade-in program is available at all official dealers we have contacted. Also, all vehicles had PTS available.
