Without being enough with the painful and despicable act of violence in which Nickol Valentina Rodríguez was killed with a knife by Pedro Trujillo, during a robbery in which he stole her cell phone, A new controversy arose in which the relatives of the confessed murderer intended to keep the reward of 50 million pesos that they offered in the Mayor’s Office of Bucaramanga for whoever provided information to find the murderer.
Nevertheless, the president in that city in eastern Colombia, Juan Carlos Cárdenas, assured that the money will not be delivered to them, as reported in the Vanguardia newspaper of the Santander capital.
“The only ‘reward’ we hope this bastard will have is 50 years in prison”highlighted in the Santander newspaper what the local president expressed.
In that communication medium they indicated that the community in that city repudiated that the relatives of the murderer had tried to receive the money for denouncing the criminal and demanded that they not give it to them.
On the RCN Radio station They recalled that it was during the hearing to legalize Trujillo’s arrest that it became known that it had been one of his brothers who provided the authorities with information on the murderer’s whereregardings.
Given the controversy, from the Secretary of the Interior of that city they clarified that the money had not been delivered. “What is happening in the city is a lot of speculation that is generating more violence, that’s why I want to say that the municipal administration has not paid the reward and less to the brother of this criminal, as mentioned by the community”, they highlighted on the station what they said in the local administration.
Even one of the minor’s uncles, Carlos Aparicio, pointed out that Delivering the 50 million to the relatives of the murderer would be rewarding them for that crime.
“It is impossible not to presume that they knew the record of this subject. It would be very poorly done and it wouldn’t be a very bad example if it happens.” quoted on RCN Radio from what the relative of the deceased student said.
However, the commander of the Metropolitan Police of Bucaramanga, General Samuel Bernal, indicated in the Vanguardia newspaper that there is still a reservation regarding the delivery of the reward, but he understood the discomfort that the money was given to the relatives of the murderer.
Even from the council of that city they announced their opposition to being given the reward, as was the case of councilor Jaime Andrés Beltrán.
“If the person who ratted out Nickol Valentina’s killer is her brother, I am totally opposed to the reward money going to the criminal’s family. 50 million pesos from the pockets of the bumangueses cannot go there, that would be paying them to kill”, rThey picked up what Beltrán said in that communication medium.
This case in which the teenager cruelly lost her life shocked public opinion in the country, since she was attacked just as she was leaving her school and heading home. Even the judge who legalized the capture of the murderer cried when the criminal confessed to the murder.
“There is no justification for having perpetrated this attack due to the abysmal and inconceivable difference that exists, between the insignificance of the criminal value of a cell phone, when compared to the supreme legal asset of life that also belonged to a minor girl”, said the robe, following having to pause the judicial proceeding.
