Taiwan has a deep connection with Japan. I want to talk regarding one thing today.
The reason I thought so was that Russia invaded Ukraine. The unfortunate catastrophe of the Ukraine crisis provides suggestive hints on how Japan will confront China-Taiwan relations.
However, the main story here is Taiwan. Let’s touch on Ukraine a little at the end.

I remember it was regarding four and a half years ago. I got off the train at Gwangbok Station in the southern part of Hualien City, eastern Taiwan. It was a dizzying followingnoon with the scorching summer sunshine of the tropical country.
I came to see the Ami tribe, who live in Hualien, because the year-end festival of Taiwanese indigenous people is held that evening. I asked Mr. Kenji Harima, who runs the reserved guest house, for guidance.
