She and her husband took this step because she belongs to the Greek Orthodox sect, while he belongs to the Maronite sect.
The religion of Fadi Al-Hashem was the Maronite Christian, and Nancy the Roman Orthodox, and she said:

“I am in favor of approving civil marriage, either they accept it and register it in Lebanon, or they reject it, so they do not torture young people, travel and marry abroad.” And they held a party at the request of the parents, and Nancy prepared for it within one month.

Nancy Ajram gave birth to 3 daughters from her husband, Fadi Al-Hashem, the eldest, they called her Mila. She was born on the same day as her mother’s birthday, on May 16, 2009.
