Bridgestone production in Joliette interrupted after a cyberattack

Production has been interrupted since Sunday at the Bridgestone tire plant in Joliette, following a cyberattack targeting the company.



The American company has decided to cease production at its factories in North America and Latin America due to the cyberattack.

The American company has decided to cease production at its factories in North America and Latin America due to the cyberattack.

The American company has decided to cease production in all its factories, both in North America and Latin America, in response to this attack, the origin of which is still unknown.

I am told of a complete shutdown of operations, so all employees would be affectedsaid Joliette Mayor Pierre-Luc Bellerose. He described the situation as worryingsince Bridgestone employs around 1,300 people there.

With the exception of maintenance staff, employees on forced rest are deprived of pay, according to information obtained by Radio-Canada.

Bridgestone has opened an internal investigation to find the source of the attack.
