In this year’s thirteenth edition of the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump it was confirmed that the manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, Dr. STONE, will reach its plot climax in the next edition, scheduled for March 7 in Japan. The magazine also confirmed that the final chapter will include a total of 7 color pages in commemoration of its conclusion and its fifth anniversary of publication, giving a total of twenty-six.
The magazine further confirmed that the literary franchise has surpassed 12 million cumulative circulating copies, and that the next issue will reveal more information regarding the third season of the anime adaptation, scheduled to premiere in 2023, and regarding the special. Dr. STONE: Ryuusui, scheduled to premiere sometime in the Summer-2022 season (July-September) in Japan. «The last 5 years with Dr. STONE have been amazing, surprising, exciting and dynamic.» wrote the illustrator Boichi in your comments on the issue.
Inagaki and Boichi began publication of the manga in the magazine. Weekly Shonen Jump from the publisher Shueisha in March 2017. The publisher published the twenty-first compiled volume on June 4, followed by the twenty-second on August 4 in Japan. The work inspired a twenty-four-episode anime adaptation produced by studios. TMS Entertainmentunder the direction of Shinya Iino and scripts written by Yuichiro Kidopremiered in July 2019. A second season of eleven episodes premiered in January 2021, confirming at the end of its broadcast a third season for the year 2023 and a special for the Summer-2022 season (July-September).

Dr Stone Synopsis
After five years of harboring unspoken feelings, high school student Taiju Ooki is finally ready to confess his love to Yuzuriha Ogawa. However, just as Taiju begins his confession, a blinding green light strikes the Earth and petrifies humanity across the globe, turning every human being to stone. Several millennia later, Taiju wakes up to find the modern world completely non-existent, as nature has flourished in the years when humanity stood still.
Among a stone world of statues, Taiju meets another living human being: his science-loving friend Senkuu, who has been active for a few months. Taiju learns that Senkuu has developed a grand plan: to launch the complete revival of civilization with science. Taiju’s strength and Senkuu’s brains combine to forge a formidable partnership, and they soon discover a method to revive the petrified. However, Senkuu’s master plan is threatened when his ideologies are challenged by those who awaken. Meanwhile, the reason for humanity’s petrification is unknown.
