Oppo unveils the world’s fastest charger

Oppo revealed its latest solutions to get rid of the delay in the development of charging technologies in smartphones, by launching the world’s first 240W charger, during its participation in MWC 2022 in Barcelona.

Oppo did not reveal new phones during its participation in the MWC exhibition, as the company had already revealed the Oppo Find x5 a few days ago, but it was also present at the exhibition in Barcelona in order to reveal what is more exciting.

Today, OPPO announced the launch of the world’s first 240W SuperVOOC charger, and said that it will be a primary support in its upcoming flagship phones, following its development has already been completed and it is confirmed that it can be used to charge phones.

The company also revealed another 150W charger at the exhibition, and confirmed that it also works with SuperVOOC technologies to be an update in smartphone charging technologies.

Although the Oppo Find X5 flagship phone recently arrived with a fast charging capacity of 80W, the company says that the upcoming flagship phones will be with better charging speed technologies.

As for the charger experience, OPPO confirmed that the 150-watt charger was tested, and it took only 5 minutes to recharge 1 to 50% of a 4500 mAh battery, and 15 minutes to reach 100% of the battery capacity.

When testing a 240W charger, 50% of the same battery was recharged in just 3 minutes and 30 seconds, and the charging rate reached 100% following only 9 minutes.

At the exhibition, OPPO confirmed that the chargers were developed in its own laboratories through advanced technology in order to provide the best performance in terms of speedy completion of the charging task, as well as maintaining the health of the battery.

She explained that the technology, which she calls BHE or Battery Health Engine, is able to increase the battery life twice as long even with more use of the number of times of charge.

She noted that measurements confirmed that other chargers reduce battery life to 80% following approximately 800 charges, while the SuperVOOC charger with BHE reaches the same percentage following 1,600 charges.
