Although it has launched different strategies in past cycles, Japan is still a denied market for Xbox and following the fall of Xbox One it was thought that everything was said between the Microsoft brand and the Asian nation, a very important market at the time for the video game industry. It was until the arrival of Phil Spencer that it was thought to reactivate the rapprochement between Xbox and Japan and although the relationship is going step by step, today an important goal has been reached.
Xbox Wire, official site of the brand, already has its Japanese edition
Through a post on his official Twitter account, Larry Hryb, better known as Major Nelson, director of Xbox programming, announced the launch of the Japanese edition of the site Xbox Wire, official page of the brand where the most important and relevant information is concentrated. As a friendly detail, Major Nelson made his publication in Japanese and informed the followers of the brand that on this site they will find information that has to do with the Japanese market.

Xbox and Japan: a rebuilding relationship
Although Xbox’s relationship with Japan had to be rebuilt from scratch by Phil Spencer, since the launch of Xbox Series X | S and with the constant promotion of Xbox Game Pass, the brand assures that the growth in that market is “phenomenal”.
In addition, the launch of Xbox Series X | S in Japan has been very good and is far from what happened with Xbox Oneconsoles that failed from the beginning to enchant the players of that country.
An important part for the relationship between Xbox and Japan to grow has been the approach of Microsoft’s games division with developers and publishers with a view to enriching the offer of Japanese games on Xbox consoles and their services taking into account great results as happened with Yakuza.
