Crossplay and the FIFA 23 World Cup: what we know

According to recent leaks, EA SPORTS might finally accede to a long-standing request from gamers and offer crossplay between players on PlayStation, Xbox and PC when it launches. FIFA 23.

If one is according to Tom Hendersona well-known dataminer, FIFA players should be treated to a number of significant changes in the coming months.

A news, which in the end is hardly surprising when we see how much the rag burns between EA and FIFA. Indeed, a few days earlier, Andrew Wilson, the CEO of Electronic Arts, confided that EA was looking for solutions to overcome the fact that FIFA has declared that it wishes to continue its relationship with the studio without exclusivity, which means that it might sell its rights to other players in the video game landscape.

EA and FIFA, a partnership coming to an end?

Looking to the future, we want to grow the franchise, and ironically the FIFA license is actually a barrier to that.” said Andrew Wilson.

While the mystery remains whole with regard to the future of the license, FIFA 23 is already talking regarding him.

Will FIFA 23 have crossplay?

According to Tom Henderson the next iteration of the franchise, FIFA 23, will include crossplay, a news that should put a smile on the face of many gamers.

At the same time, despite players’ pleas, in recent years EA has not even given players on different consoles of the same brand the possibility of playing together. For example, players on Xbox Series X had a different version of the game than those on Xbox One…

While crossplay is now a feature on many flagship titles, gamers struggled to understand EA’s inflexibility.

However, if the leaks are true, it will soon be history. The icing on the cake, some exclusive FIFA content, like the Women’s and Men’s World Cup, would also be available in FIFA 23.

FIFA 22 gave more space to Women’s Football.

In FIFA 22, EA has made it possible to create female teams in Pro Clubs for the very first time. Female footballers were available to play in offline modes such as Kick-Off as members of their national teams, so the addition of a Women’s World Cup might only be a matter of time.

Also according to Tom Henderson, the HyperMotion technology, which introduced thousands of new animations in FIFA 22, should receive a facelift. The development team is expected to abandon Xsens suits in favor of capturing animations of real footballers using stadium cameras.

If the leaks are true, these various changes would allow many players to finally get what they wanted. Unfortunately, as always, while waiting for EA to confirm or deny these various pieces of information, we can only cross our fingers.
