In the tennis event, the Oriental region won the gold medal in the boys’ category, followed by the Marrakech-Safi and Fez-Meknes regions. For girls, the Souss-Massa region won the title, followed by the Oriental region. In a statement to APA, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Youssef Belqasmi, indicated that this championship is an opportunity to “identify talents, which will allow us to support them and to make them available to elite sport to win medals followingwards and stand on the podium on the African and international levels”. “To support these talents there is a lot of work being done at the level of schools in coordination with the federations”, he said, adding that the sport-study program makes it possible to associate the two (schools et fédé) and moreover the last result of the national women’s school football team which won the African championship in Kinshasa (February 19 and 20, 2022), is a more concrete example”. For him, the integration of sport and school sport within the same ministry has facilitated communication and coordination with all the federations and allowed for a diversification of sport practice. Placed under the sign “school sport at the service of talents and future champions”, this first edition was organized by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in partnership with the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federations and table tennis and with the support of the Royal Moroccan Federation of School Sports (FRMSS).
