Russia and its clubs suspended from all competitions

Fifa and UEFA announced in a statement on February 28 that they would exclude the Russian national team and Russian clubs from all competitions until further notice, citing their solidarity with the Ukrainian people in the face of the invasion decided by Vladimir Poutine. UEFA has also announced that it is suspending its partnership with Gazprom, valued at 40 million euros.

This means the exclusion of Russian clubs from the Champions League, the most prestigious of European competitions. Above all, this will prevent the national team from participating in the Mondial-2022, the most followed sporting event in the world following the Olympic Games, which will take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
