Next to new information to Digimon Survive and a possible reboot from Digimon World, a game also celebrated a return at DigiCon 2022 that very few people remember. In 2017, it was announced that a new Digimon story game was also in development. These statements were renewed in 2018, following which nothing was heard.
Tonight at this year’s Digimon Con, Producer Kazumasu Habu revealed that this new game is still in development, set to be set in the ‘Digital World’ and centered around Olympos XII. Unfortunately, Habu did not reveal more and of course there is no date yet (via Gematsu).
The Olympus Twelve are a group of 12 shaman Digimon corresponding to the Olympian gods of ancient Rome and the sagas of Greece. They all take their names from the Roman gods. Their abilities are in no way inferior to those of the Royal Knights. They protect their own areas, but mostly remain neutral to things that otherwise happen in the digital world.
The next Digimon story game will therefore play in the digital world and the “Olympos XII” will appear as central characters in the story.
