Following Bandai Namco’s statement regarding performance issues and bugs, FromSoftware has released patch 1.02.1 for Elden Ring on PS5 and PC. For PC gamers, it improves startup issues related to Easy Anti-Cheat and mouse operation. It also reduces the number of files needed when loading into a new area.
For PS5 players, a bug that caused “unexpected” game closures has been fixed. While it’s unclear if this patch fixes performance issues on PC, like frame rate drops and micro stutters, FromSoftware is working on it. Unfortunately, this patch does not resolve the issue of Xbox players not being able to play online due to a version error – learn more here.
Elden Ring is currently available on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Despite some issues on PC, the maximum concurrent player count on Steam at launch exceeded 764,000 players. Stay tuned for more details on updates in the coming weeks and check out our review here in the meantime.
