The Sunday newspaper broadcast live the France International Forum, organized by the Open Diplomacy Institute, during which representatives of the main candidates for the presidential election will discuss international politics.

The Open Diplomacy Institute, in partnership with the Jean Jaurès Foundation and the Institut Montaigne, and with the support of Focus 2030, is conducting an in-depth study of the program of candidates for the French presidential election in terms of international politics. Representatives of the main contenders for the Elysée – from Jean-Luc Mélenchon to Marine Le Pen – will debate live before a debrief by experts from these three think-tanks. An event that you can follow live on the Journal du Dimanche website, this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

The following spokespersons will be present: MP Bastien Lachaud for Jean-Luc Mélenchon, MP Hubert Julien-Laferrière for Yannick Jadot, Senator Rachid Temal for Anne Hidalgo, MP Jean-Louis Thieriot for Valérie Pécresse, MEP and vice-president of Reconquête Jérôme Rivière for Eric Zemmour and MEP Hervé Juvin for Marine Le Pen.

The debate will revolve around three main axes:

  1. the influence of France in the major geopolitical balance of power, while Russian aggression in Ukraine might not be stopped by French diplomacy;
  2. France’s contribution to international solidarity while the coronavirus pandemic is still raging;
  3. France’s strategy in the face of major international disruptions that will be caused by the environmental crisis, while the IPCC continues to alert us to the urgency and danger of climate change.
