US announces sanctions on President Putin along with top Russian officials in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine

Archyde.com reported that US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a statement: “We are united with our partners and international partners in ensuring that Russia will suffer severe economic and diplomatic consequences for further aggression to Ukraine, if necessary. We are ready to impose additional sanctions on Russia for its horrifying behavior on the world stage,” Yellen said.

White House spokesman Jane Saki said during a briefing on Friday: “In line with the decisions of our European partners The United States will join them in sanctions once morest President Putin and Foreign Minister Lavrov. including members of the Russian National Security Working Group.”
