Turkish Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kagir announced that the local electric car TOGG will be launched on the market within 12 months.
Fatih Kagir said in a speech on the sidelines of the Climate Shura meeting organized by the Turkish Ministry of Environment: “We feel very excited with the start of the countdown to launching the TOGG car on the market and entering the last twelve months.”
Qajir added that they view the TOGG local car project as more than just an ordinary project to manufacture a car or launch a new brand, but rather see it as a pioneering project in the transformation of the ecosystem, in the automotive industry in general.
He continued that the TOGG project is a model for green development, and a serious step towards achieving the goal of zero carbon emissions.
He explained that it is expected that half of car sales following 10 years will be from electric cars that do not emit any emissions, noting that the local car TOGG was designed from the beginning to be free of any emissions.
He pointed out that the ecosystem that will be accompanying the TOGG car will also gain great value, and that the investments they have made in the field of battery manufacturing have gained momentum with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
In 2018, the launch of the Turkish car project “TOGG”, consisting of five Turkish companies, was launched: Anadolu Group, BMC, Turkcell Telecom, Zorlu Holding, and Gok Group.
