The Motorola Edge 30 Pro has been made official. At 800 euros, it offers a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a 144 Hz screen and fast charging at 68 W.
Motorola is an iconic brand in the mobile phone market. However, we must not lie to ourselves, the group nowadays plays the role of Petit Poucet. Despite this, the new Motorola Edge 30 Pro does not intend to be stepped on and comes to offer its tempting technical sheet to try without complex to step on the toes of competitors.
The smartphone clearly assumes its large dimensions. 163 mm high and 8.79 mm thick, but the weight remains below 200 grams. The finishes of the smartphone are quite refined, especially at the level of the photo block.
It protrudes in relief, of course, but avoids being too abrupt by being almost in line with the rest of the surface on the back.
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 under the hood
On the front, count on a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD + definition and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Inside, eyes are obviously on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which powers the Motorola Edge 30 Pro. Big performances on the program, especially since 12 GB of RAM (an 8 GB version exists outside Europe). Users on the Old Continent will be entitled to internal storage of 256 GB in UFS 3.1 (elsewhere in the world, there are also options at 128 and 512 GB).
On the photo side, the triple rear photo module of the Edge 30 Pro has a main sensor of 50 megapixels (f / 1.8). It is accompanied by another 50 megapixel camera (f / 2.2) for the ultra wide-angle (114 degrees) and which also manages macro shots. Finally, the whole thing is completed by a depth sensor of 2 megapixels.
For selfies, we are entitled to a definition of 60 megapixels on the front camera.
The small downside
The 4800 mAh battery is compatible with 68 W fast charging and also works with wireless charging up to 15 W. For the interface, the Motorola Edge 30 Pro runs natively under Android 12. 5G compatibility is also there, as is Bluetooth 5.2, the Wi-Fi 6E or the stereo speakers.
Finally, let’s also mention a major downside: the Motorla Edge 30 Pro is IP52 certified, which is not enough to guarantee its water resistance. Also, some markets are entitled to a stylus compatible with the smartphone, but not France.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro price and release date
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro will be released in early March in France at the recommended price of 799 euros.
