Arrival of the fifth : 12 -8 – 7 – 6 – 11
Before the Sunday meeting of the Prix de Paris which will pit fourteen competitors over the marathon distance of 4,150 m, the quinté of the day also took place in the Parisian ash. Among the sixteen 5-year-old horses and geldings who did not win €81,000, success went to Helios Somolli (#12). Shown barefoot for the first time in his career, this 5-year-old gelding won a hard fight at the expense ofHadol du Palma (n°8), came to tickle him near the post and offered his driver, Mathias Dudouit, a first success at this level.
Quickly in the leading group, Helencio (n°7) takes third place and is just ahead of Handzaro du Bocage (#6). Initially came fifth, Hermes d’Ecroville (n°11) was disqualified following investigation for his paces, which allows Hove Pont Vautier (n°13) to complete the arrival of the quinté. A performance all the more remarkable as Franck Nivard’s partner had conceded a lot of ground on a prank at the start. It clearly precedes Hurricane Steed (n°2), one of the animators, and Haughty (#10). Disappointment with the favourite, Happy Coast (n°15), which is content with a modest eighth place.
