Despite the fact that in several municipalities of the Valle de Aburrá the measure that forced the use of masks in public spaces has already been lifted, the metro is not covered by this measure and travelers must continue to wear the protective element.
The Metro warned this followingnoon, when it recalled that the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, specified that “the public transport system does not operate as a public space.” In this, the mask must continue to be maintained because there is a closeness between people.
Consequently, the Metro reiterated its call for co-responsibility, “to continue implementing hand washing, to travel in silence and to use the mask covering the nose, mouth and chin.”
The foregoing indicates that people who intend to board the metro system on its different platforms without wearing a mask will not be able to do so.
Let us remember that at noon this Wednesday the National Government authorized the populations whose vaccination plan already exceeds 70% to lift the obligation to wear face masks in open spaces. Immediately, Medellín, Envigado and Rionegro accepted the recommendation,
In Antioquia there are 38 localities from six subregions that can authorize people to attend public spaces without the protective element.
