The 12th live evening of the Million’s Poet, in its tenth season, kicked off on Tuesday, amid competitions and challenges between poets who presented distinguished poems.
The competitions for the program, which is produced by the Cultural and Heritage Programs and Festivals Management Committee in Abu Dhabi, will be held on the Al Raha Beach Theatre, and are broadcast on the “Baynouna” and “Emirates” channels and the program’s application.
The evening was attended by Issa Saif Al Mazrouei, Vice Chairman of the Committee for the Management of Festivals and Cultural and Heritage Programs, members of the Advisory Committee of the program Turki Al-Muraikhi and Badr Safouk, the poet Muhammad Mushait Al-Marri, member of the jury of the Al-Mankoos Program, social media pioneers and connoisseurs of Nabati poetry.
At the beginning of the evening, the presenters of the program, “Hussain Al-Amiri and Nada Al-Shaibani,” announced the results of the viewers’ vote through the “Million Poet” application and website, which lasted for a week, as 5 poets were waiting to vote, two of them to join their colleagues in the 12th stage.
The results resulted in qualifying: Hadi Mani’ Al-Yami from Saudi Arabia with 64%, and Ayed Hawass Al-Hazmi from Saudi Arabia with 64%, while the poets Abdullah bin Khashman from Kuwait, Ali Al-Dahmashi Al-Anzi from Saudi Arabia, and Rakad Mutreb Al-Shammari from Iraq left the competition.
The poets: Bashayer Al-Muqbil Al-Tamimi from Saudi Arabia, Saqr Abdullah Al-Mazrouei from the Sultanate of Oman, Abdulaziz bin Sadhan from Saudi Arabia, Abdul Hadi Abudiya Al-Qahtani from Saudi Arabia, Ali bin Braik Al-Rashdi from the UAE, Ali Hamid Al-Azmi from Kuwait, presented their masterpieces of their Nabataean poems on Al Raha Beach Theater and in front of a panel Arbitration, consisting of Sultan Al-Amimi, Director of the Academy of Poetry, Dr. Ghassan Al-Hassan, and the poet Hamad Al-Saeed.
The two poets “Ali Hamed Al-Azmi from Kuwait and Abdul-Hadi Abudia Al-Qahtani from Saudi Arabia” qualified by the jury’s decision to the next stage, following each of them got 47 points out of 50, and four poets are waiting for the audience to vote over the course of a week through the application of the Million Poet program Or his website, and giving the opportunity to one poet of them to qualify for the next stage, and the poets are: Bashayer Al-Muqbil Al-Tamimi from Saudi Arabia and got 46 degrees, Abdulaziz bin Sadhan from Saudi Arabia and got 42 degrees, Ali Bin Brik Al-Rashdi from the Emirates and got 41 degrees, Saqr Abdullah Al Mazrouei is from the Sultanate of Oman and got a score of 40.
