Bayern are serious about Ridle Baku!

In the search for a new right-back, FC Bayern seems to have cast an eye on Ridle Baku once more. According to current media reports, the Munich team has already contacted the player’s management.

The Italian portal “Calciomercato” was the first to report yesterday that Bayern would be looking at the 23-year-old full-back once more. This message has now been confirmed by “BILD” football boss Christian Falk. Accordingly, Baku is actually an option for Munich in the coming summer.

Bayern has already contacted the players side

It’s an open secret that Julian Nagelsmann wants a new right-back. A much more offensive full-back than Benjamin Pavard or FCB youngster Josip Stanisic. According to Falk, Bayern have already contacted the player’s website and expressed their interest.

In the past two years, Baku has developed into a seasoned Bundesliga professional who already has initial Champions League experience. With the wolves, he also made it into the German national team.

Transfer might become the sticking point at Baku

But one thing is clear: Due to the fact that he is contractually bound to VfL Wolfsburg until 2025, Bayern will have to dig deep into their pockets for a transfer in the summer. The current market value is around 25 million euros and the transfer fee for Baku should also be in this range.

Those responsible at Säbener Strasse will probably be annoyed that nothing was struck two years ago when Baku was still playing in Mainz. At that time, the shooting star was offered to Bayern for ten million euros. However, FCB declined and ultimately opted for Bouna Sarr, who moved from Marseille to Munich for eight million euros and has so far played no role at all with the German record champions.
