234 military elements were attacked in 2021

During 2021, the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) registered 234 attacks on its staff, in different regions of the country, a figure that represents 10 percent fewer cases compared to the 260 attacks that occurred in 2020.

However, although the number of attacks decreased, the number of military personnel killed doubled, going from 6 deaths in 2020 to 13 victims last year, an increase of 116 percent.

In relation to the staff army and the Mexican Air Force who were injured in the attacks recorded by the Sedenathe report establishes that last year there were 74 cases, while in 2020 there were 56, a difference of 18 victims, an increase of 32.1 percent.

The alleged aggressors injured last year were 35, while the year before last they were 44, a difference of 9 cases, equivalent to a decrease of 20.4 percent.

In 2020, as a result of these clashes, military personnel managed to arrest 170 alleged aggressors, while last year there were 174, an increase of 2.3 percent, according to the Sedena report.
