Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)—STC has announced the termination of its contracting business following investigations it conducted into the publication of offensive tweets years ago.
The company explained in a statement published on its official Twitter page: “A reference to the explanatory statement regarding what was circulated in social media regarding offensive tweets from one of the accounts years ago, and following investigation, it was found that the account was one of the contractors on one of the company’s projects.”
She added: “Therefore, a decision was issued for the contracting company to terminate the contract with the aforementioned, and the matter will be referred to the concerned authorities, and STC affirms its keenness on the nation’s reputation and not tolerating anyone who offends him in any way..”
It is reported that the company had published a previous tweet in which it confirmed that it was conducting investigations to take the necessary legal measures regarding what was monitored.
