The Bethesda launcher will disappear!

Game news The Bethesda launcher will disappear!

Bethesda announces the end of its launcher, all its games will migrate to Steam.

The launcher of Bethesda has never been a strong point of the editor, and it seems that he is aware of it. Quake, Fallout 76, Rage 2, Wolfenstein : Youngblood and others Doom Eternal are going soon migrate to Steam.

Steam picks up Bethesda games

many games Bethesda were already available on Steam, but you might choose to play them on the Bethesda launcher, called Bethesda.net. This choice will no longer be possible, since the launcher will be closed. After the takeover of the publisher by Microsoft, one might have feared that the games would migrate to the Windows Store, rarely appreciated by players, but it is indeed on Steam, the most widespread launcher, that they will be found. A good news for pc gamers.

Bethesda uploaded several FAQs to answer all your questions : a FAQ dedicated to migrating games to Steam and another one specially dedicated to the case of Fallout 76. Note that The Elder Scrolls Online is not affected by this migration. Broadly, we learn that players will be able to migrate their game libraries and friend lists from April. The majority of titles should transfer automatically, some will require a manual copy. It is the same principle for game progress and saves : some titles will require a manual copy (in particular Wolfenstein : Youngblood). On the other hand, and this is logical, your various virtual currencies in Bethesda games will transfer automatically.

The launcher Bethesda will be permanently closed in May. Note that your games migrated to Steam will still require a Bethesda.net account to work.
