Janet Jackson releases documentary about her life: Personal footage from childhood

The Angels. US pop singer Janet Jackson (55) releases a documentary regarding her life. The film “Janet” will be released in January 2022, as Jackson announced on Instagram on Monday (local time). The musician shared a first trailer for the film. In addition to personal recordings – including from your childhood and from concerts – you can also see excerpts from interviews with other celebrities. “She’s a strong woman,” says singer Mariah Carey.

The trailer says it took five years to work on the film. “This is my story, told by me, not through someone else’s eyes,” Jackson says near the end of the clip. “That’s the truth. Take her or leave her, love her or hate her. This is me.”

Jackson is excited to share trailers with fans

Jackson wrote on Instagram that she was excited to share these first clips with her fans. The documentary is to be broadcast on two evenings by US commercial channels A&E and Lifetime. Nothing is known regarding a broadcast in Germany.

The sister of singer Michael Jackson (1958-2009) rose to become one of the most successful pop and soul singers in the world with albums such as “Control” (1986) and “Janet” (1993). In 2017, the multiple Grammy Award winner gave birth to her first child, son Eissa Al Mana.
