On the occasion of the promotion of his Maigret, Patrice Leconte explains that the project he had with the actor will not happen. Blame it on the health problems encountered by Alain Delon in recent years (he was notably the victim of a stroke in 2019) which postponed the filming. But not only ! The director of tanned explained at the microphone of RFM last Sunday: “I think Delon, with all the friendship and admiration I have for him, announcing his latest movie is a bit like he’s going to shoot it and die followingwards.”

Yet it was Alain Deloin himself who had launched the idea of ​​a final film. It was in 2016, on Laurent Delahousse’s set during 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Stating that he was at the twilight of his career, he added: “I still have a dream, it’s to make one last film with Patrice.” Patrice Leconte of course, who was in front of him when he made these remarks and who was very surprised.

These were not empty words. The director embarked on the adventure with a tailor-made scenario concocted with Jérôme Tonnerre who signs that of Maigret. His title : The empty house. To respond to Delon, Patrice Leconte had invited Juliette Binoche. The rest is to be put in the column of regrets.
